We’re thrilled to present Straits Clan members the opportunity to dine with Richard Baldwin, a respected economist and one of the world's leading globalization experts. Recently featured on Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times, Richard’s latest book, The Globotics Upheaval, demonstrates how the inhumane speed of digital transformation today threatens to overwhelm our capacity to adapt. From computers in the office to automatic ordering systems in restaurants, we are familiar with how digital technologies offer convenience while also eliminating jobs. Offering effective strategies such as focusing on the social value of work, Richard’s wants to help people prepare for the oncoming wave of an advanced robotic workforce. Join us for an intimate dinner with Richard, to discuss globotics, the changing economy and the role of digital technology in advanced economies.
Richard Baldwin is Professor of International Economics at the Graduate Institute, Geneva and the Founder of the policy portal VoxEU.org. In addition to research and teaching, he advises governments and international organisations around the world on globalisation and trade policy issues. In 1990-91, he served as a Senior Staff Economist for President George Bush's Council of Economic Advisors.
Please RSVP below if you’re keen on joining. Spaces are limited and on a first come, first served basis. Your place will only be confirmed with an email acknowledgment from Straits Clan.
